Mandala Space Ventures Selected as Provider for 2024 Southern California (SoCal) – Canadian Space Accelerator by Government of Canada

Mandala Space Ventures, a Pasadena-based venture studio and leader in supporting entrepreneurs and venture capitalists to successfully launch companies within the emerging new-space economy, announced today that they’ve been selected as the service provider for the SoCal – Canadian Space Accelerator. A great honor and opportunity amidst a competitive field.

The open call for applicants to the initiative starts on October 18, 2023. This is a two-month virtual accelerator for Canadian space small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking to raise between $500K to $20 million USD to support growth and expansion of the company. The initiative is a collaboration between the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service (TCS), Canadian Space Agency (CSA), and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED).

I am delighted that Mandala Space Ventures was selected in a competitive bid to lead this initiative by the Canadian Government on the SoCal – Canadian Space Accelerator. We uniquely bring to this initiative deep space-tech spaceflight experience, fresh energy, enthusiasm and our vast investment network,” said Dr. Leon Alkalai, founder & CEO of Mandala Space Ventures.

The initiative will be delivered by Southern California-based provider, Mandala Space Ventures. The accelerator will take place virtually from February through March 2024, and end with an in-person pitch-day to the U.S. private sector, including venture capital firms, and government stakeholders at the Colorado Springs Space Symposium April 8-11, 2024.

“Congratulations to Mandala Space Ventures for being selected as the service provider for the second cohort of this initiative – we look forward to working together closely over the coming months to support further connections between the Canadian and Southern California space ecosystems,” said Michael Willmott, Senior Trade Commissioner, Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles.
